<\/a><\/p>\nMultiple Stock Sites<\/h3>\n
You can track sites (warehouses), bin locations (rows, shelves, or bins), or both. You should complete the following steps to set up your company file to use Multiple Stock Sites. Note: If you don\u2019t have multiple sites (warehouses) but want to track bin locations, you still need to set up 1 site.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

- Create stock sites.The first step to track multiple stock locations is to tell QuickBooks where you track stock. Locations can be either site (warehouses) or bin locations (rows, shelves, or bins). Sites and bin locations are both tracked on the Stock Site List. Sites are parents of bin locations. In other words, sites (warehouses) contain bin locations (rows, shelves, or bins).To do this task<\/strong>\n
- \n
- Choose\u00a0Lists > Stock Site List<\/span>.<\/li>\n
- Click the\u00a0Stock Site<\/span>\u00a0drop-down arrow and select\u00a0New<\/span>.<\/li>\n
- In the\u00a0Name<\/span>\u00a0field, enter the name of the location.<\/li>\n
- If this is a bin location (row, shelf, or bin), select the\u00a0is a Location within site<\/span>\u00a0checkbox. Then click the drop-down arrow and select a site (warehouse).<\/li>\n
- Enter the appropriate information.<\/li>\n
- Click\u00a0Next<\/span>\u00a0to add another location, or click\u00a0OK<\/span>\u00a0if you\u2019re finished.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
- Convert from the previous method of tracking stock sites.You may currently use a different method (with QuickBooks or different software) to track multiple stock sites. - (Optional) Set reorder points for each site (warehouse).With Multiple Stock Locations, you can track site-specific reorder points for each item (you can\u2019t set reorder points for bin locations). This means you can have a different reorder point for each site, and QuickBooks can warn you when you\u2019re running low at a specific site.To do this task<\/strong>\n

- Choose\u00a0Lists > Stock Site List<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Click the\u00a0Activities<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down arrow and select\u00a0Set Reorder Points<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Click the\u00a0Set reorder point for site<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down arrow and select the site you want to set a reorder point for.<\/li>\n
- In the\u00a0Site Reorder Point<\/strong>\u00a0column, enter the reorder point for each item.<\/li>\n
- Click\u00a0OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
- Transfer opening quantities of items to each location.When you turned on Multiple Stock Locations, QuickBooks prompted you to begin with a single, temporary starting site (and if you track bin locations, an unassigned bin). Consequently, QuickBooks shows that your entire stock is stored at 1 location (and 1 unassigned bin).Now you may be ready to transfer your stock from the starting site or bin to their actual locations. To do this, you need current stock counts for each location.To enter a new transfer for each location:\n

- Choose\u00a0Stock > Transfer Stock<\/span>.<\/li>\n
- In the\u00a0Date<\/strong>\u00a0field, enter the date of the transfer. This can be the date you begin tracking multiple locations.<\/li>\n
- In the\u00a0Reference No.<\/strong>\u00a0field, enter the appropriate transfer number. We recommend \u201csetup1,\u201d \u201csetup2,\u201d and so on for these transfers.<\/li>\n
- Click the\u00a0Transfer from<\/strong> a drop-down arrow and select your temporary stock site (warehouse).<\/li>\n
- Click the\u00a0to<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down arrow and select the actual stock site (warehouse).Note:\u00a0<\/span>If you\u2019re transferring between bin locations, you still need to enter sites in the\u00a0Transfer from<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0to<\/span>\u00a0fields. You specify the bin locations in the field below.<\/li>\n
- Select the stock items to transfer to the site:\n

- To select individual items:\n
- \n
- Click in the\u00a0Item<\/strong>\u00a0column.<\/li>\n
- Click the drop-down arrow and select a stock item.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
- To select multiple items:\n

- Click\u00a0Find & Select Items<\/span>.<\/li>\n
- Click the left column to select the stock items.<\/li>\n
- Click\u00a0Add Selected Items<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- If you track bin locations, be sure that the first\u00a0Location column is set to\u00a0Unassigned<\/span>.<\/li>\n
- In the\u00a0Qty to Transfer<\/strong>\u00a0column, enter the number to transfer to each item.<\/li>\n
- If you track bin locations, click the drop-down arrow in the second\u00a0Location<\/span>\u00a0column and select the bin you\u2019re transferring to.<\/li>\n
- (Optional) In the\u00a0Memo<\/strong>\u00a0field, enter the reason for this transfer such as \u201cTransfer opening quantity to the site.\u201d<\/li>\n
- (Optional) Click\u00a0Print<\/strong>\u00a0to print a copy of the transfer for your records.<\/li>\n
- Click\u00a0Save & New<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Repeat these steps for each stock location.<\/li>\n
- When finished, click\u00a0Save & Close<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
